#23 Evaluation

I really enjoyed doing 23 things on a stick. I think it has valuable information for everyone in the library. I know many staff who started but haven't finished. I will try to encourage staff to keep plugging away! I will keep blogging - and will work on getting better at these new found skills!

#23 Staying Current

This is a tough one with all that I have to do at work each day. I do think a lot of things I have learned - like adding RSS Feeds - will help me stay current. Work/social networks can be very helpful also. I already use webjunction quite a bit.

#21 Other Social Networks

I joined Ning and commented. However I also had trouble with the badge. Tried a dozen times and never posted!

#20 Facebook

This is something I have heard so much about and never looked at. I saw a few people I know. I can see why kids like it. They can keep in touch with out calling! I joined the ALA and Library 2.0 interest group. Now I will see if my kids will agree to be my friends??

#19 Podcasts

I listened to one of the Memo Conference pod cast and the Interview with Librarian Sue. I found them both informative and interesting. I liked that you can join whenever, listen and stop and start whenever you want. I found the Yahoo directory easy to use and I could see my self subscribing to a podcast regularly.

#18 YouTube

How fun. I loved the videos that were listed especially the IT Librarian one. I didn't recognize anyone from the ALA Conference. I chose the Young Frankenstein video because It's a Musical and I would love the see the show. My Son saw it in New York and loved it.

#17 ELM

Elm is a wonderful resource. The one I use the most is worldcat for cataloging. There is so much to this resource! eBooks are getting more and more popular at our library.

#16 Student 2.0 Tools

Wow - I wish I had these tools when I was in school. I will let my college Junior know about these tools. For any project that you need reminders this would be a helpful tool.

#15 Second Life

I signed up second life. I've never been into 'cartoons' of any kind. I don't think I would spend my time with this.

#14 Library Thing

http://www.librarything.com/catalog/kathyr33

Interesting...don't know if I would use this in my current position. Reader's advisory folks might love it.

#13 Getting Organized

I loved the My Yahoo page. I will put this on my computer at home. I use an online calendar at work and this really helps to keep me organized. I don't know if I would us the list tools.

#12 DIG

I can see where some people would really like this tool. I'm not sure if I would use it. I more into local news.

#11 Del.icio.us

I Labeled my post from #10. Very easy to do. Signed up for a Del.icio.us account. I don't do a lot of this - but found it interesting.

#10 Wikis

Loved the Library Success and Library staff Wiki. Great way to share information. I made a entry in the Wiki Sandbox and the 23 things Wiki!

#9 Collaboration

Tried zoho writer and and signed up for Google Docs. Both were interesting but I had trouble editing in both. I saw that this was a problem for a lot of others.

# 8 Bling

No matter how many times I tried I couldn't get any pictures or bling or anything else. Very frustrating.

#7 Communication

The library uses email to communicate with each other and recently we started using email to communicate to our patrons. We are emailing holds and overdue notices. We are getting Meebo on our web site for our patrons to communicate with us. As far as IM and Text Messaging - I use it all the time!
I was on OPAL for a book discussion.
